Talnua Bartender Position

This is a 40/week position with Talnua Distillery with the opportunity to grow quickly in the company. As a bartender, you will work with and report to the General Manager and Beverage Director. Pay is $12 - $15/hr (depending on experience) plus tips and benefits.

A Bartender for Talnua Distillery will be required and expected to manage and perform the following tasks:

Hospitality

  • Must be able to speak knowledgably about Talnua Distillery products and their various characteristics and ingredients

  • Work with Tasting Room staff to manage the guest experience adhering to the hospitality standards of Talnua Distillery at all times

  • Assist General Manager in training and managing future staff members

Cocktail Program and Development

  • Must have a strong understanding of flavor profiles and be able to assist with cocktail development

  • Must assist in the creation of seasonal and rotational cocktails to further advance Talnua Distillery’s cocktail program

  • Must assist with weekly prep work for cocktails, garnishes, etc.

  • Must assist in managing inventory of ingredients, supplies, spirits, etc.

  • Must assist the General Manager to actively control and maintain product costs

General Duties and Responsibilities as a Bartender

  • Must enjoy craft spirits and the culture of craft distilling

  • Must always be looking for ways to uphold and further elevate Talnua’s culture and brand

  • Serve customers quickly and efficiently and with a professional and friendly attitude

  • Must understand alcohol safety and the signs of intoxication and be able to use appropriate discretion in serving spirits to customers (present TIPS training or will be paid for by Talnua).

  • Actively participate in the set up and clean up of the tasting room before and after every shift

  • Be proactive and have a critical eye for trash, dirt, misplaced items, old signage etc. at all times in order to promote a clean work environment that is more enjoyable for both you and our guests

  • Interpersonal Skills: To maintain a harmonious work relationship between yourself, your coworkers and customers

  • Adhere to health standards, safety practices, and standard operating procedures throughout every shift

  • Communicate Tasting Room issues and status to the General Manager when necessary

Abilities and Skills

  • Able to effectively manage time

  • Able to stand for 8-10 hours per day

  • Able to work in a fast paced environment

  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays

  • Able to multi-task while being detail and quality focused

  • Must be able to work independently and as a team

  • Must be responsible and dependable

  • Previous bartending experience required

  • TIPS Alcohol Certified

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
